Pokemon Go Trainer Tips
Pokemon Go is taking the world by storm. But there are some things that you need to know before diving into this new craze.
For starters, your chances of catching Pokemon don’t depend on your trainer level. Also, you should wait to power-up Pokemon until they have reached high levels of CP.
Gyms
The more you visit Gyms, the stronger your team of Pokemon will become. If you can, make sure to visit a gym at least once a day to earn the most XP. You can also use a Lucky Egg, which doubles the XP you earn for 30 minutes. It’s worth saving it for when you know you’ll battle lots of Pokemon, such as at a busy town centre.
Another tip is to plan your daily activities around Pokemon Go locations. This will help you level up quickly, as well as catch rare Pokemon. This could mean planning your walk, run, cycle or lunch break around PokeStops and Gyms in your area.
Pokemon Go also introduced the Battle League, which has Trainers battle in pairs. Depending on your rank, you can battle in leagues that have a CP cap on each Pokemon. It’s best to pick a balanced team when entering a league match.
Raids
The Raid system in Pokemon Go has players team up with other Trainers to take down “extremely powerful” creatures known as Raid Bosses within a time limit. These Pokémon have much higher CP than other Pokemon, making them difficult to take down and requiring a large group to do so.
Trainers can join a Raid by visiting the Gym and tapping on the Raid Egg displayed at the top of the screen (this feature has returned following the release of Legendary Pokemon). They can also find a Raid by using the Nearby feature or by accepting an invitation from a friend even when they aren’t at their friends’ locations.
Once the Raid Boss has been defeated, players are rewarded with Premier Balls that they can use to capture the Pokemon. These Premier Balls cannot be replaced and cannot be used with Great or Ultra Balls, but can be augmented with Berries. If a player runs out of Premier Balls during the encounter, the Raid Boss will flee. However, a player can retry the Raid in the same lobby without requiring an additional Raid Pass for as long as it is active.
Pokestops
As one of the most recognizable in-game elements of Pokemon Go, Pokestops are important to any trainer. They’re the chief source of items and one of the few locations where you can catch wild Pokemon. You’ll notice them on the map as what looks like floating blue cubes that turn into Poke Balls when you approach. They also provide a good amount of XP upon your first visit. They can also host Lure Modules to attract a variety of Pokemon to the area.
Pokestops allow you to collect a wide selection of items, including Potions and Revives. You can also find eggs, lures and other special items. Some items appear only at higher trainer levels, while others may be available at any level.
Players can nominate new Pokestops for their region by visiting the main menu and tapping “New Pokestop.” It’s important to note that Niantic considers only certain types of physical locations as suitable for a Pokestop. These include landmarks, public buildings and other locations that encourage exploration and exercise. You can view pictures of eligible locations and find out more about what makes a good nominee on the official Pokemon Go support page.
Items
Items are an important part of the trainer’s arsenal in Pokemon Go. Using them properly can save the player a lot of time. For example, using a Razz Berry alongside an Ultra Ball can increase the chance of catching certain rare Pokemon.
Items like Lucky Eggs can also speed up the process of leveling up a Pokemon. These can be obtained by spinning the photo disc at PokeStops or through special events. The game’s shop also sells them.
One of the most important items in Pokemon Go is the Stardust Booster, which doubles the amount of Stardust earned during gameplay. It’s a great way to power up a Pokemon without having to spend a ton of time grinding candy.
Pokemon Go players can also use items to change a Pokemon’s moveset, giving them the flexibility to take on any opponent. Having the right moves can make or break a battle. Items can also help the trainer save a lot of PP, or “Power Points,” which is needed to use a Pokemon’s moves. Using a Fast TM can save some of that PP and allow the user to immediately fight the next battle.
Stardust
Stardust is a term used to describe something that is very enchanting or romantic. It is a reference to the dust particles from stars that are blown across space by solar winds and incorporated into planets and other celestial bodies.
Aside from the usual way of catching Pokemon, you can also collect Stardust by participating in community events in your city! These are usually held once a month, and they are great opportunities to get rare Pokemon and level up your team quickly.
However, you must be careful about how you spend your Stardust, as it is important to save it for the Pokemon that are worth powering up. This means that you should only power up Pokemon that can help you in raids, gym battles, and trainer battles. Also, it is wise to power up a Pokemon only once its CP reaches at least 2,499, since Pokemon with higher CP cannot be used in the Master League and Ultra League. The new feature that allows players to use two Charged Attacks in trainer battles should help them deal more damage to their opponents.
